| Walking cross the corridor … with that look in his eyes, since when he woke up and he is feeling that something is happening today. He really doesn’t know if it is good or bad. He took a deep breath telling himself: “be clam, what the worst thing that could happen … a zero in the assignment, I am already acquainted with that in this college”. But, he kept feeling dusky, a feeling that made him not having a very perfect day.
Jay, whilst all these thoughts, met his friend Ron, they were in front of the Histology Department Head office, when they made a fast greeting and resumed progressing through the corridor to catch their lecture time. Jay’s cellular phone rang, he grabbed it after Ron told him he will reach the classroom first and reserve the seats, it was a message from his father, telling him that he should take the car today and pick his mum from in front of the hospital, where his little sister just made it through an operation in her ears, and that should be at 2 sharp. Jay, fast enough, silenced his cell, and walked quickly into the classroom, not 5 seconds after the professor. The professor, infamous of arrogance, ignorance, was in the mood today perfectly to mock Jay 5 seconds lag after the lecture time. Despite the fact that the professor himself is 15 mins late, but Jay, appearing wrong, was sharply put reasonable by the professor for the whole class to just laugh at Jay. Jay, acquainted with this too!, began to look for Ron who raised his hand so Jay can make it to the reserved seat. He didn’t make even his first move, when the professor, with the most intimidating glance Jay saw of him the whole semester, said “Jay, I think you will be sitting in front of me today, I have something for you” he concluded his words, whilst setting up the data show and his laptop, with a stirring smile, weird smile too! Jay thought “the man got mad at last”, for poor Jay, didn’t know what the surprise was. Jay, in his last year at college, stuck with the projects and assignments, not in the mood generally, especially for study, made it to college with difficulty in the first place!, above all that, Jay was somehow seen by his colleagues one cool guy, many class mates respect him, but many, however, don’t give him what it takes to be called a cool guy. Jay, who recently began to be fond, in a sudden!! , of blogging and writing generally, gained more fame, also he found it somehow relieving the pressure of study, and he found it entertaining. Jay, sitting now in the first class row, with no disk, having to collect on some weird position to sit, raised his knee, and put his notebook on it, so he can keep up with the famous lengthy notes of the professor, especially with how long the subject is, he began to comfort himself and concentrate on the first slides of the presentation, things were just normal, the professor sometimes ask students, students ask, professor makes fun of someone, it was completely normal for this particular class. The very strange, yet scary thing however, is Jay sitting like that in front of the professor, having to be slammed with all the looks, glances, pop-up questions and sometimes physical hits!! on the head from the kidding doctor. It was normal to the class, but Jay, began to feel something. Weird things were happening, for instance, when Jay is asked a question, all class is strangely silent to hear his answer, when the professor looks at him, Jay hears some rude laughs from behind. With things going silly enough, Jay, took the chance of the professor walking out to answer his cell, turned around to see Ron whose face was completely different. Jay signaled his face with a “what’s going on” move, Ron, in like the 5th or 6th class raw, didn’t make a move, his eyes were telling much, Jay, didn’t think much about it, he figured quickly that there is a disaster happening any moment that he will elect in as a funny star. Jay began to loose balance, he got a little scared, and also he lost concentration. Also what made things worse, is that the professor began to throw comments about some unnamed guy, with the class laughing abnormally loudly, and the comedy theme was about some guy who is free enough to get lost of study and write!!!, some silly writings that is not related to beauty, any kind of descent or nothing. Jay didn’t understand, so, to get in the atmosphere, he began to laugh himself, when he laughed, the professor looked at him and made a 3 seconds pause before exploding aloud ugly laugh and saying “Guys, Jay is laughing too!”, that’s when, another doctor knocked the class door to see what’s happening, the whole class was laughing as if it were the theatre or a comedy movie opening. Jay was plastic smiling, when he felt a rustling move on his back, it was kind of a paper, he didn’t look even behind to see who’s handing it, he opened the paper, read what was inside and that was it. Jay said to himself, “This can’t be happening, this Drama is more than I can bear”, and after that, after a clearly pretended serious stand up, he said, with sharp voice that made the laughs calm down a little, “I just received a note saying that all the comedy is about me!”, the professor made a really fast reply “of course, who else would them be at”. Jay, surprised by the audacity of the whole scene, didn’t know what to say. This scene, then, to Jay, was seriously imperfect, a lot of feelings blushed out at once, that made him feel a kind of hot, yet fatigue at the same time. He was looking down to where his feet stood, and at the same time didn’t know why his eyes weren’t rising to at least catch upon the prospect. Jay, sane enough to breath, wanted to say many things, or more specifically, to ask the question, why?!!, why is he the one that has to be receiving all this sarcasm at that moment, he felt wronged, embarrassed, kind of angry and somehow broken. He began to rewind a little on his writings, maybe he mentioned something wrong in them, or maybe he did a serious mistake that he wasn’t conscious enough to notice. “They were not 5 posts, what could happen from 5 posts?!” Jay was asking himself. |
- Well, I think it’s good. For the phrase I wrote you, till now, the professor didn’t explicitly talk about Jay’s writings.
- That’s what I am going to write.
- Yes, I am counting on some good dialogs to read.
- I’ll try to do my best.
- You know, I am loosing interest these days, I need encouragement, when I want to write something, I find my self blank … again, damn it!
- I suggest that you make some privacy, be the only writer and the reader.
- I am thinking seriously about that. And I want to settle that up early.
- Well, good luck then.
- Thanks!
